Washington State's September Unemployment Rate At 8.5%

The State of Washington's September 2012 unemployment rate was published at 8.5%. This is slightly lower (by 0.1%) from the prior month of August and snaps the most recent pattern of rising rates in WA. In the month of September there were approximately 296,400 unemployed workers in the state. This was a decrease of almost 6,000 individuals from August. The total number of employed workers was also up by around 3,200 to an estimated 3.2 million individuals.
